Thus, after numerous research, tests and impressive products, the brand pushes its ambitions even further by proposing the Daart Aquila. It is indeed a multifunction device since it combines both a DAC, a headphone amplifier and a preamplifier, all based on a symmetrical design and with an extremely well placed quality/price ratio.

A particularly efficient entrance stage

All device inputs, namely USB, Optical and SPDIF support DSD, DoP128 and PCM up to 384kHz. Its small footprint, many features and excellent technical and acoustic features make it an ideal audio device for your headphones or speakers in your HiFi system.

Digital signal processing is provided by an SA8804 chip, supporting DoP64, DoP128, PCM up to 24bit 384kHz via SPDIF and providing ultra-low jitter thanks to the PLL precision clock system. The processed and synchronized signal is then fed to the AK4497 DAC, with an ultra-low noise controller for its analog supply.

On the USB input side Daart turns to an excellent XMOS U8 interface. However, its integrated switching power supply is suppressed and replaced by a low noise linear power supply. An accurate, low-noise dedicated phase clock is also associated with this XMOS. The DSD256 is supported via USB with the Thesycon custom driver, well known for high sound performance and stability.

AOP & PGA

Pour sa section filtre passe-bas (LPF), le Aquila intègre des AOP ultra-faible distorsion OPA1611 et OPA1688. Ceux-ci sont suivi par un autre AOP haut courant faible distorsion OPA1688 en buffer de sortie. Côté traitement des informations, le préamplificateur et le niveau de l'amplificateur casque sont controllés par un PGA2311.

Une alimentation solide

For its low-pass filter (LPF) section, the Aquila incorporates ultra-low distortion OPA1611 and OPA1688 PDOs. These are followed by another high current low distortion OPA1688 AOP in the output buffer. On the information processing side, the preamplifier and headphone amplifier level are controlled by a PGA2311.

TPA6120 Amplifier for a natural sound

The headphone amplifier is based on a TPA6120 chip offering high performance and rich, natural sound.

In addition, modes are available to adapt the playback to your listening preferences. Mode 1 corresponds to symmetrical mode. Mode 2 offers a sound that is both firm and delicate, often used to listen to classical music. Mode 3 provides softer sound and voice support. Perfect for vocal parts of Jazz for example. In addition, these modes can be combined to find the combination best suited to your listening needs.
