The Rose HiFi RW800 Rose Air Lite is a compact streamer (digital transport) integrating an ES9280 DAC, designed to provide both dematerialized playback and digital transport within a HiFi system. It supports streams up to 32bit 384kHz as well as DSD128, relying on an architecture separating network and audio processing in order to limit interference and stabilize conversion, which allows full use of source resolution depending on the selected output mode.
Designed for versatile integration, it combines extended network connectivity (Ethernet, WiFi, AirPlay 2, DLNA, Roon, streaming services) and dual analog and digital outputs, allowing operation either as a direct source to an amplifier or as a transport to an external DAC. This approach is extended by a dual-mode operation, allowing standalone use or extension of a Rose HiFi device, while maintaining compatibility with non-proprietary systems and simplified implementation.
The RW800 relies on an architecture separating network and audio processing, allowing to limit interference between data streams and conversion, resulting in increased signal stability. To achieve this, it integrates an ES9280 DAC combined with an SRC4382 processor, ensuring digital-to-analog conversion and processing of streams up to 24bit 192kHz on optical interfaces, while USB transport allows streams up to 32bit 384kHz, thus enabling adaptation of the playback chain to the resolution level of the sources.
Analog output is provided via a stereo RCA output delivering up to 2Vrms, with a THD+N of 0.0008% and a signal-to-noise ratio of 119dB, ensuring low distortion and controlled noise floor. This architecture combines analog output and optical digital output, allowing either use of the internal DAC or an external converter, enabling use as a direct analog source or as a digital transport depending on system organization.

The RW800 adopts a dual-mode logic allowing to adjust its role according to the installation. In Extension mode (CH), it connects directly to a compatible Rose HiFi device via USB-C, ensuring both power supply and data transmission, which allows synchronization with the host system interface and continuity of control without additional network configuration.
In standalone mode (SA), it operates as an independent network player, allowing direct connection to an amplifier, an external DAC or active speakers. This approach allows it to fulfill several roles within the same system, as a network extension for a Rose HiFi device or as a standalone source, while maintaining compatibility with non-proprietary configurations.
The RW800 groups its interfaces around a coherent connectivity including an RCA output, an optical input and an optical output, as well as a USB-C port, ensuring power supply and data transmission depending on the usage mode. This organization allows routing the signal either to direct amplification or to external conversion, while enabling integration of an additional digital source via the optical input.
Network connection is achieved either via Ethernet for a stable wired link, or via Wi-Fi for cable-free installation, while Bluetooth allows both initial setup and reception of direct audio streams from a mobile device, all controlled via the mobile application. This organization thus allows using the RW800 as a network access point or as an occasional wireless receiver, while ensuring signal routing to the audio chain depending on the selected connection mode.

The rigid polymer chassis allows housing the circuits in a compact format while ensuring good mechanical strength, while the silicone feet limit vibration transmission to the device, contributing to stable installation.
The power supply adapts to the operating mode, being provided directly via USB-C in CH mode or via an external 5V / 1.5A power supply in standalone use, allowing simplified cabling or complete independence depending on the configuration. An LED indicator completes the whole by providing visual feedback on operating status.
