DAYTON AUDIO TD24F-4 Speaker Driver Tweeter

Designed for modern compact speaker systems, the Dayton Audio TD24F-4 tweeter combines a lightweight 1-inch silk dome diaphragm with a powerful neodymium magnet to produce clear, natural high frequencies. Soft-dome tweeters are renowned for their excellent damping characteristics, which allow high frequencies to be reproduced with great finesse and minimal listener fatigue. The TD24F-4 is therefore perfectly suited for music and home theater applications, where accurate high-frequency reproduction is essential. The TD24F-4 is also the tweeter used in the speakers of Dayton Audio’s Classic collection, notably the B40, B65, C40, and T65 models, making it a direct replacement to restore the original high-frequency performance of these models.

To improve durability and performance under demanding conditions, the space between the voice coil windings is filled with ferrofluid. This fluid helps dissipate heat from the voice coil while providing additional mechanical damping, which improves power handling and reduces distortion during dynamic playback. The result is a tweeter capable of maintaining clear, stable sound even when driven at high levels.

The optimized diaphragm profile and driver design deliver a linear frequency response and wide off-axis dispersion, allowing the tweeter to blend naturally with the mid-bass drivers in compact two-way speakers. This wide dispersion also helps maintain consistent sound quality throughout the listening area, making the TD24F-4 ideal for near-field monitors, small bookshelf speakers, and multi-speaker systems.

A neodymium magnet significantly reduces the overall footprint of the tweeter compared to traditional ferrite models. Thanks to its extremely shallow mounting depth (less than 1.27 cm), the TD24F-4 can be installed in locations where conventional tweeters simply wouldn’t fit. This makes it an excellent choice for soundbars, ultra-slim speaker systems, automotive installations, and custom speaker designs where space is limited but high-quality high-frequency reproduction remains essential.
