ASCILAB BX8C Active Subwoofer Grey (Pair)

The AsciLab BX8C is an active subwoofer featuring a total of four 20.32 cm (8") drivers and 2x250W amplification in a unit with exceptional directivity. Designed to complement the C8C speakers by extending their bass response, the combination of the two offers remarkable neutrality in frequency response and impressive directivity, allowing for unaltered sound quality regardless of the environment.

The BX8C stands out for its exceptional directional control, which goes beyond simple bass extension to provide directional control at frequencies where acoustic interaction is greatest. This approach reduces the impact of front/rear wall reflections and room modes, allowing the bass to gain consistency in real listening environments while simplifying the installation phase.

The speaker design generates tighter vertical control of directivity, limiting colouration induced by ceiling/floor reflections. This vertical control prevents the SBIR cancellations usually observed, resulting in clearer imaging and reproducible tonal balance from one listening position to another.

AsciLab BX8C : A perfect match for the C8C speaker

When paired with a C8C speaker, the BX8C delivers a measured extension down to 28 Hz while maintaining target response consistency and directional control. Going beyond conventional subwoofer integrations, this systemic approach allows infrabasses to integrate naturally with low-mids without phase discontinuity. In addition, to facilitate installation, the BX8C features XLR and RCA outputs so that it can be connected in series with the C8C.

AsciLab BX8C : Enhanced dynamic range

The system provides up to +9 dB of additional dynamic range in the 20-200 Hz range thanks to a tripled speaker excursion capacity. This excursion reserve allows the same sound pressure level to be achieved with reduced excursion per transducer, thereby reducing total harmonic distortion and dynamic compression under heavy load.
