AsciLab C8C Bookshelf Speakers Cardioid 3-way 1x100W + 2x250W Modern Grey (Pair)
The AsciLab C8C speakers are 3-way cardioid active speakers with a power rating of 1x100W + 2x250W. They feature a central tweeter and two 6" ceramic woofers supported by two side subwoofers for powerful, immersive sound. Thanks to their unique design, they cover a very wide frequency range of 30Hz-20kHz while maintaining exemplary directivity and low distortion. In addition, their connectivity offers numerous configurations: a micro USB-B port provides access to a 9-band equalizer to fine-tune the settings of your C8C speakers according to their position in the room, the style of music being played, or simply your preferences.

Alumina ceramic tweeter with waveguide
The tweeters in the AsciLab C8C feature a waveguide and an internal phase plug, designed to precisely manage sound dispersion. These elements help prevent phase interference, reduce internal resonance, and improve off-axis dispersion. The advantages of this type of configuration include a more linear frequency response, reduced distortion, and better sound spatialization, resulting in a more coherent soundstage.
Two 6" alumina ceramic woofers
Despite their compact size, the 6" woofers in the AsciLab C8C speakers are capable of filling large spaces with powerful, well-defined bass. Alumina ceramic provides exceptional rigidity for faithful, distortion-free reproduction even at high volumes, thanks to significant limitation of cone deformation at high sound pressure levels.
Two 8" active subwoofers
The C8C speakers feature two subwoofers in a dual-opposite-phase (DOP) configuration to minimize resonance effects while producing powerful, immersive sound. This means they are mounted facing each other on opposite sides of the same enclosure and operate in phase. The result is tighter, more precise bass.
AsciLab C8C: horizontal and vertical cardioid directivity
By reducing lateral and rear radiation, AsciLab C8C speakers avoid sound reflections for clearer sound reproduction. At the same time, the symmetrical vertical layout prevents reflection from the floor or speaker stand for overall consistency in the sound experience.
AsciLab C8C: 2 operating modes and 9-band EQ
The C8C has 2 distinct operating modes: minimum phase mode and linear phase mode. Minimum phase operation is ideal when the user is looking for low latency for real-time rendering and is therefore suitable for professional or home studio use, while linear phase operation provides stricter alignment and increased transient fidelity, but with a latency of approximately 30 ms. In addition, you can use the built-in 9-band DSP equalizer for precise adjustment to suit your environment. These DSP settings are accessible via the micro USB-B port using a Windows interface.

The outputs are pass-through outputs and allow you to daisy chain the various C8C/BX8C speakers. Please use AES/EBU or coaxial SPDIF digital rather than Toslink optical for true pass-through.
AsciLab C8C: Option to extend bass frequencies with the BX8C module
Alongside its C8C model, Ascilab has developed a BX8C bass extension module, specially designed to work in conjunction with it. The BX8 modules connect in series with the C8C modules to provide more powerful sound if you have a large space. The BX8C modules are also active and feature four 8" subwoofers arranged in a dual-opposite-phase (DOP) configuration.
