PURIFI EVAL2 Mono 1ET400A Amplifier Evaluation Kit 425W 4 Ohm

Purifi's EVAL2 mono evaluation kit is designed to enable simple connection of the power supply and input/output signal to the 1ET400A amplifier module. The kit has been developed for evaluation purposes, but is also suitable for DIY applications.

Purifi Eval 2 in detail

This evaluation module features a 1ET400A amplifier module, connected to an FE01 front-end module. The 1ET400A amplifier module offer a level of sound quality that sets the standard for amplifier modules of all classes. The 1ET400A amplifier features an output power of 450W at 2 Ohm and 227W at 8 Ohm. It features a high-gain loop in excess of 75dB over the entire frequency range, with stable, coherent rendering across the entire spectrum. Finally, Total harmonic distortion (THD) is kept extremely low at all power levels, guaranteeing faithful sound reproduction. This amplification module can be found, for example, in certain Audiophonics Workshop amplifier models.

The FE01 front-end module receives the input signal via its 3-pin XLR connector before delivering it, once amplified, via its pair of 4mm banana plug speaker outputs. However, this FE01 module doesn't just act as a link between the amplifier modules and the inputs and outputs, it is also packed with a OPA1612 operational amplifier, providing 27dB pre-gain stage or, at the very least, buffering of the input signal. These are powered by a low-noise discrete voltage regulator.

To operate, the EVAL2 requires a power supply range from 25V to 70V DC. The EVAL2 evaluation kit is also compatible with the HYPEX SMPS1200A400 switching power supply module, as the supplied cable enables you to connect directly to the module.
