The HiFiMAN HE1000 WiFi is an open-back circumaural planar magnetic headphone with a built-in network playback solution, DAC, and amplification integrated directly into the earcups. Designed as a self-contained audio system, it operates in WiFi, Bluetooth 5.1, or USB Audio mode via USB-C. It uses the acoustic architecture of the HE1000 series with nanometer-thickness planar magnetic drivers combined with Stealth Magnet technology, designed to reduce turbulence and diffraction in front of the diaphragm. Digital processing relies on a proprietary Hymalaya R2R / Hymalaya Mini DAC, compatible with PCM streams from 44.1kHz to 768kHz in 16/24/32bit as well as native DSD from DSD64 to DSD512. In Bluetooth mode, it supports SBC, AAC, aptX, aptX HD, and LDAC codecs. In WiFi network playback mode, the headphones can directly access compatible streaming services such as Qobuz, TIDAL, Spotify, and Apple Music depending on the ecosystem used. Its frequency response extends from 8Hz to 65kHz (±0.5dB), channel separation reaches 105dB at 1kHz, and its net weight is 452g. Battery life is rated at 6.5 to 7.5 hours in WiFi mode, up to 23 hours in Bluetooth mode, with a full recharge in 3 to 4 hours and standby time exceeding 30 days.

The HE1000 WiFi uses planar magnetic drivers based on an extremely thin nanometer-grade diaphragm. The open-back design also contributes to a more spacious soundstage and greater sense of air, particularly appreciated for home listening.
The Stealth Magnet structure developed by HiFiMAN uses specially shaped magnets to reduce sound wave reflections and aerodynamic disturbances generated in front of the diaphragm. The goal is to preserve response linearity, improve the readability of micro-details, and reduce masking effects that can occur with more conventional magnetic structures.
HiFiMAN HE1000 WiFi: Integrated R2R DAC & High-Resolution Compatibility
The headphones feature a proprietary Hymalaya digital-to-analog converter based on an R2R architecture. This internal electronics package allows the HE1000 WiFi to operate as a standalone system without requiring an external DAC. In USB Audio mode, it supports PCM streams up to 32bit 768kHz as well as native DSD512. This integration reduces the signal path length between conversion, amplification, and drivers.
