The Allo Digione interfaces are currently the best  SPDIF /digital outputs for Raspberry Pi. They connect directly to the RPI by GPIO and provide digital transfer while correcting the jitter found in any ordinary SBC. This interface also provides the RPI with a 75 Ohm BNC and RCA Coaxial Digital 24bit 192khz output. Its rise time is 1 ns and the voltage completely meets the coaxial / BNC standards (550mV coaxial). This interface is capable of transforming a digital limited source such as an SBC into a true high-fidelity device with a remarkably low jitter of 400fs.

For this SIGNATURE version the Digione interface team added latest type of NDK oscillatorrs iultra low jitter and phase noie. The audio circuitry also hosts a supercapacitor to enhance the power supply and to provide partial protection in case of sudden voltage off-state.

Two insulated PCB


The PCB is now divided into two parts, allowing the circuit more space than the previous version.

Its design is less subject to space limitations and can accommodate compex network and more subtle components than before. Clocks and buffers enjbenefits from better film capacitors.

In addition to this first advantage, the choice of dividing the two PCB is mainly explained by a desire to overcome the technical limitations (power supply management) in a Raspberry Pi .

The lower PCB and has its own standard power input (5V / 2-3A). This power supply is also used to power the PI.

The lower PCB working in duo with the RPI is the "dirty side" which gathers every component that may generate unwanted noise or cause signal degradation.

Naturally, this "dirty" portion is isolated (galvanic insulation) from the rest of the circuit  that is dedicated strictly to audio processes.


On the other hand, the upper PCB is the "clean side" which  focuses all critical and high sensitivity components. This circuit is isolated from the second PCB and Pi. It can (and must) be powered separately.

If the prospect of a double power supply for one interface can seem restrictive, the return on investment is considerable:
The "clean" power is extremely flexible. Since it only bear sensitive audio components, the technical specifications that it has to meet are less heterogeneous. It is much easier to achieve satisfactory operating conditions with this type of configuration. The circuit will operate without failures with voltages from 5 to 6V as long as it is provided with at least 100mA current. Whether a battery, a linear power supply or even a good switching power supply is up to you.

The second , more subtle, benefit is also the most interesting in the  context of an audio project.

The  2x PCB / 2x separate power means that any improvement in the "clean" circuit power supply will be an  improvement of higher repercutions than with a single-supply scheme.

In other words, the Digione Signature interface will not "waste" the potential of an improved power supply on components that do not specifically need the best power supply there is. Thus it can focus especially on the critical audio components.

The design 2PCB / 2PSU is able to make the most olf any improvement made on the upper floor power supply. Conversely, the digital interface is more likely to "forgive" the user if the power on the "dirty" side is not as good as it could. This asymmetry is very relevant in audio with multi-PSU systems.

Ensemble très correct pour premier pas dans l'univers du dématérialise. Solution facile à mettre en œuvre. Durant 1 an ma donner pleinement satisfaction.

Le Digione en mieux
Je possède toujours le Digione dans sa première version, et c'était devenu mon streamer privilégié malgré des soucis assez contraignants (perte du signal vis à vis du DAC, redémarrage nécessaire).
Niveau purement sonore, il fait mieux que mon Bluesound Node.
Pour le remplacer, je me suis décidé à rester chez Allo avec la version Signature de ce dernier, et je ne regrète vraiment pas ce choix !
Sur un bon système, on perçoit de suite une nette différence mais il est conseillé de le laisser jouer 2 à 3 jours minimum avant d'y prêter une oreille attentive à ses qualitées sonores.
Important, il faut soigner l'alimentation pour la partie 'clean' càd celle qui alimente le module Digione et non le Raspberry.
Je l'utilise avec l'alim ifi iPower de 5v qui est certainement un des meilleurs en rapport qualité/prix, et j'ai également pris le pack de batterie prévu (pas encore tester).
Alors comment sonne t-il ?
La scène sonore est élargie, meilleur placement des instruments;
Le son à un côté plus analogique, plus rafiné, les détails sont plus nombreux, la dynamique est bien préservée.
Côté app, je recommande Volumio car il est possible de l'utiliser gratuitement, il est bien stable et peut être piloté à partir d'un navigateur web.
Ceci dit, mon app préféré est Roon, mais il est payant (abonnement annuel ou achat licence à vie). L'ergonomie et les fonctionnalités sont de ce qui se fait de mieux, et il est compatible avec beaucoup de marques différentes.

Outstanding for the money
Upgraded from HiFiBerry Digi Pro. The increase in sound quality was simply astounding in every aspect. Power supplies are Raspi 4 official supply in the dirty side and a IFi in the clean side. DAC used is that built into the Marantz 6006 amp.

Super streamer for DIY audiophiles
The ALLO DigiOne Signature does one job and does it very well: streaming music from your network (via WiFi or Ethernet) to your DAC via an SPDIF Coax interconnect.
That said, if you buy the add-on board separately you will have a bit of work mounting it on the Raspberry Pi, putting it in a casing, setting up and configuring the software. So being handy with your hands and flashing SD cards is hardly recommended.
I set mine up with ROPIEEE - they have great instructions on their site. And it is important to follow their recommendations for the size of the SD card.
I also bought an IFI 5V DC power supply for the clean power.
The result is remarkable and the satisfaction of putting this together yourself is even greater.
I highly recommend the ALLO DigiOne Signature.
