A dual DAC system without compromise

Offering a design based on two converters AK4495S, the Quloos QA890 DAC does not compromise in ensuring excellent audio performance. Thus, this high-end DAC is capable of supporting resolutions up to 24bits 192kHz in PCM but also supports DSD64 / 1bit / Stereo, from input DoP or USB. Thanks to its two converters, the QA890 is capable of separation of the left and right channels and of preventing any potential deterioration of the signal. Converters incorporate a design circuitry to provide rich sound, deep bass and reduced distortion for a memorable musical experience.

Filters for all types of music

The Quloos QA890, with its two converters AK4495S, offers 5 predefined audio parameters to suit all types of listening, as well as an "All to DSD" mode. For example, short-shift roll-off, sharp roll-off, slow roll-off, sharp roll-off and slow roll-off filters are all available to avoid phase shifting and a super slow roll-off filter. All to DSD mode

A high-quality clock

The Quloos QA890 makes the choice not to use a TCXO clock to find a more warm and natural sound. Thus the new design of the low noise power supply and the low jitter clock makes it possible to obtain a sound of a precision, a dynamism and an incomparable naturalness.

6x OPA AD797

This Quloos QA890 also incorporates no less than 6 ultra-low noise and ultra low distortion AD797 OPAs from Analog Devices. The DAC also incorporates a volume control via two buttons on the front panel.

USB XMOS

The QA890 has an asynchronous XMOS USB input for you to get the most out of your digital audio sources using this connectivity. Thus, the USB allows to reach resolutions up to 24bit 192kHz. An input that also benefits from insulation to limit the noise coming from the source. In addition, the USB is compatible with Mac and Windows computers, the second one requiring the installation of the XMOS driver.

To use the USB XMOS with a Windows operating system be sure to install the XMOS driver beforehand.

Separate power supplies & LDO

The DAC QA890 also incorporates two toroidal transformers for separately supplying the digital and analog sections, thus ensuring an even cleaner reproduction and reducing noise. A power input that is made via a connector with fitre Schurter DD12.9121.111 ensuring a noise-free electrical environment. In addition, the QA890 incorporates 20 independent ultra-low-noise LDOs for high-clarity sound reproduction.

High Quality connectivity

Providing complete connectivity, Quloos has chosen to integrate quality connectors into its QA890. Thus, the coaxial connectors are silver plated and the Balanced output uses very good connectors of the brand Neutrik.

Design & Ergonomics

The Quloos QA890 has a sober and elegant design that will fit seamlessly into most audio systems. Moreover, its design is at the service of the sound since it was also thought to absorb the interferences and the vibrations which could diminish the quality of the sound reproduction. Finally, the DAC incorporates an extremely convenient OLED display that will allow you to see at a glance the source and mode used, the volume and the sampling rate.
