The Fosi Audio C3 is a DAC with integrated headphone amplifier designed for high-resolution conversion and dedicated amplification in a gaming environment. It supports high-resolution streams up to PCM 32bits 384kHz and DSD256 via its USB-C interface, relying on an XMOS XU316 architecture combined with a CS43131 chip in order to produce a detailed and stable signal, while the optical and coaxial inputs allow extended use with other sources in PCM 24bits 192kHz.
Designed for gaming and multimedia use, it combines headphone amplification, audio processing and accessible adjustments, allowing improved perception of useful in-game sounds while adapting the rendering to user preferences. This approach extends with two TPA6120 amplifiers delivering up to 2x320mW under 32Ω, ensuring compatibility with headphones from 16 to 300Ω, while spatialization functions and equalization via application facilitate integration into a setup focused on immersion and sound precision.
Fosi Audio C3: Performance and Amplification
The Fosi Audio C3, thanks to its XMOS XU316 USB interface and CS43131 DAC chip, supports high-resolution audio streams up to PCM 32bits 384kHz and DSD256 via its USB-C input. The Toslink optical and SPDIF coaxial inputs support PCM up to 24bits 192kHz. The C3 thus provides an audiophile listening experience with faithful reproduction of details.
The circuit integrates two TI TPA6120 chips, allowing its 3.5mm jack headphone output a power of 2x320mW under 32Ω, enabling it to drive a wide range of headphones and earphones while revealing subtle details in gaming audio.
Fosi Audio C3: Gaming-oriented Features
Primarily designed for gaming use, the C3 integrates the StepSense™ feature allowing improved detection and amplification of footsteps, combined with multichannel support via activation of 7.1 audio enabling better distance perception and enhanced immersion.
To support these features, the C3 is compatible with a web application allowing configuration through presets or via equalization controls.
