The DSPeaker Anti-Mode X4 is a DAC, preamplifier and DSP equalizer designed to optimize the reproduction of a stereo system according to the room acoustics. It combines automatic Anti-Mode 3.0 calibration, advanced speaker and subwoofer management, and particularly comprehensive connectivity allowing up to 10 digital and analog audio sources to be connected. It supports configurations from 2.0 to 2.2, as well as up to four subwoofers in a 0.4 configuration, with automatic crossover frequency optimization.
Its digital processing operates up to PCM 24bit 192kHz and supports DSD64 and DSD128 via USB. The X4 also integrates three high-quality DACs and three ADCs, a headphone amplifier with Headspace DSP processing, RCA, XLR and digital outputs, as well as numerous equalization and correction tools. It therefore provides a comprehensive solution for precisely adapting the reproduction of a Hi-Fi system to its acoustic environment.

The DSPeaker Anti-Mode X4 integrates the Anti-Mode 3.0 automatic calibration algorithm, which measures the acoustic response of the room using the supplied microphone and then automatically creates filters adapted to the listening environment. The system is designed in particular to reduce resonances and response peaks in the bass range in order to achieve clearer reproduction, more precise bass and better integration between the main speakers and subwoofers. The optimal crossover frequency between speakers and subwoofers is also determined automatically using the patented digital crossover system. In advanced configuration, the crossover frequency can be adjusted from 20 to 1540Hz, with adjustment of the Q factor, filter order and overlap between channels.
Beyond automatic correction, the Anti-Mode X4 offers numerous tools for adapting reproduction to the user's preferences. These include Bass Tilt and Treble Tilt settings, bass compensation, an adjustable infrasonic filter from 2 to 200Hz, and up to 9 fully configurable parametric equalizers, with adjustment of the center frequency, bandwidth and gain. The X4 also features 6 sound profiles, allowing different correction and setting configurations to be stored. Measured responses and corrections can be viewed directly on the device's display, without requiring an additional computer.
The DSPeaker Anti-Mode X4 integrates a headphone amplifier accessible via a 6.35mm Jack output on the front panel. When headphones are connected, the main and auxiliary outputs are automatically muted by default to switch listening to the headphones. Two dedicated profiles, H and P, allow separate settings from those intended for speakers. The X4 also features Headspace, an HRTF-based DSP processing system that notably improves the listening experience of mono or stereo recordings designed for speaker playback. The intensity of this effect can be adjusted or disabled. A Volume Cap setting also allows the maximum level of the headphone output to be limited.
The DSPeaker Anti-Mode X4 features 2 stereo RCA inputs, 1 stereo XLR input, 3 Toslink optical inputs and 3 S/PDIF coaxial inputs, as well as a USB Audio 2.0 input. The latter accepts streams up to stereo PCM 24bit 192kHz, as well as DSD64 and DSD128 via DSD over PCM. Outputs include a main stereo output available in RCA, XLR, Toslink optical and coaxial S/PDIF, as well as an auxiliary output in RCA and XLR. The device also features a microphone input, a combo XLR/6.35mm headphone output, a 12V Trigger output and a USB port dedicated to firmware updates. The analog section features a frequency response from 5Hz to 45kHz (20Hz to 20kHz ±0.1dB), a total harmonic distortion level below 0.0008% THD on the main XLR output and an SNR+THD of -104dB.
