The CrinEar Reference are hybrid in-ear monitors designed for studio-quality sound reproduction, combining dynamic drivers and balanced armature drivers to cover the entire frequency range with consistency. They feature a multi-driver design incorporating a dual 10mm driver for bass, complemented by dedicated drivers for midrange and treble, thereby maintaining a wide and well-defined response across the entire frequency range.
Designed for both analytical listening and demanding everyday use, they combine tonal neutrality and transparency with the ability to adapt to different sources thanks to their modular connectivity. This approach allows them to fit seamlessly into both a studio setup and a portable configuration, whilst maintaining a stable, clear and faithful reproduction of the recordings.
The Reference models feature a bass-specific design based on twin 10mm dynamic drivers. This configuration, known as HODWS (Horizontally-Opposed Dual Woofer System), distributes mechanical stress between the two diaphragms, stabilising their operation and improving the linearity of their movement, resulting in more controlled bass and greater overall efficiency.
Beyond this mechanical balance, this approach ensures that the low end remains substantial despite a neutral tuning, thereby preventing the sound from becoming too shallow.

The midrange and treble drivers are based on a hybrid design combining two Sonion balanced armature drivers for the midrange and a Knowles supertweeter for the extreme high frequencies. Each component is carefully selected and matched, whilst the crossover is designed to ensure a seamless transition between the different frequency ranges.
The Reference earphones were designed as monitoring earphones aimed at delivering a linear and reproducible sound, with a focus on tonal neutrality and transparency. This pursuit of fidelity results in the flattest possible frequency response, minimising colouration and making it easier to analyse recordings.
This approach is complemented by a adjustment in the low frequencies, with a slight boost of around 2 dB designed to compensate for the characteristics of in-ear listening. This rebalancing restores a sense of texture and presence comparable to listening on speakers, whilst maintaining the overall consistency of the sound signature.

The transducers are housed in a body machined from aluminum using 5-axis CNC technology, ensuring a rigid and stable structure. This rigidity minimises structural resonance, which helps to maintain signal clarity whilst ensuring the unit is robust enough for regular use.
At the same time, the internal design and ergonomic shape ensure a secure fit in the ear, allowing for extended listening sessions without any discomfort.

The Reference earphones come with a detachable silver-plated copper cable, ensuring optimal conductivity for lossless signal transmission. The cable features interchangeable connectors, allowing you to easily switch between a single-ended 3.5mm jack and a balanced 4.4mm jack, depending on your devices and preferences.
