Thieaudio presents the latest addition to its HYPE (for Hybrid Performance) series of in-ear monitors : the HYPE 4. With this new model, Thieaudio continues to offer an innovative pair of headphones that combine technical and musical excellence. In fact, the HYPE 4 feature 6 drivers for optimum coverage of the entire frequency range. The whole is coupled with the brand's characteristic equalization, much appreciated by its fans.
Thieaudio HYPE 4: 6-drivers configuration
Like their predecessors, the HYPE 2, these earphones feature Thieaudio's IMPACT² technology. This technology consists in the integration of two 10mm composite diaphragms dynamic drivers arranged in an isobaric design. These two dynamic drivers are responsible for handling low frequencies, ensuring powerful, textured bass while preserving a beautiful tonality. However, unlike their ancestors, HYPE 4 continue down the path of audio spectrum breakdown, entrusting mids and high frequencies to four specialized drivers. The midrange frequency range is covered by two Balanced Armature drivers from Sonion's 26A series. This layout ensures a good tonal balance, offering a very neutral midrange with very little treble, and an excellent output power-to-total harmonic distortion ratio. The frequency range for the treble is entrusted to two Soinion E50 "Hummingbird" series Balanced Armature ultra-tweeter drivers, offering a high-frequency extension rivaling the Planar Magnetic drivers, while guaranteeing a very low level of harmonic distortion.
Thieaudio HYPE 4: a distinctive equalization
Thieaudio has taken up the equalization blueprint of its Monarch MKII, Clairevoyance and Oracle models, which have made the brand so successful. As a result, the HYPE 4 earphones deliver a beautiful sub-bass presence that fades out precisely at 200Hz, giving way to an absolutely neutral midrange that precedes a more pronounced presence that peaks at 3kHz, before slowly dropping off to 20kHz.
