EVERSOLO DMP-A8 MASTER EDITION GEN 2 Streamer / CD Player / DAC

The Eversolo DMP-A8 Master Edition Gen 2 is a multifunction audiophile streamer combining a CD player with ripping function, a high-resolution DAC, a balanced R2R analog preamplifier, and the Eversolo AuralEngine audio processing engine. It is based on a separated conversion architecture combining the AKM AK4191EQ modulator with the AKM AK4499EXEQ DAC and supports PCM streams up to 32bit / 768kHz as well as native DSD512. It also integrates OPA1612 operational amplifiers, a particularly advanced clock architecture with a temperature-compensated OCXO oscillator, PLL, femtosecond clocks, and a 10MHz / 50 Ω external clock input.

This Master Edition 2 version features a dual low-noise power supply separating the analog and digital sections, as well as enhanced electrical isolation. Its top-loading CD player allows not only audio CD playback but also CD ripping to an internal M.2 NVMe SSD with a capacity of up to 8TB (not included).

The proprietary Eversolo AuralEngine processing and EOS engine provide bit-perfect playback, while the evotune™ PRO functions allow room acoustic correction using FIR filters, a 20-band parametric equalizer, and advanced bass adjustment.

Eversolo DMP-A8 Master Edition Gen 2: CD Player with Ripping Function

One of the main features of the DMP-A8 Master Edition Gen 2 is its integrated top-loading CD mechanism. Designed to provide stable and quiet playback, it benefits from an advanced error correction system to limit reading errors and preserve the integrity of audio data. The player is not limited to CD playback: it also allows the content of CDs to be ripped directly to the M.2 NVMe SSD installed in the device (not included). This function makes it easy to build a digital music library from physical discs, with automatic retrieval of associated album information and artwork.

Eversolo DMP-A8 Master Edition Gen 2: AK4499EXEQ + AK4191EQ DAC Architecture

The digital-to-analog conversion is based on a separated architecture combining the AKM AK4191EQ modulator with the AKM AK4499EXEQ converter. The former handles digital processing, while the latter is dedicated to D/A conversion, allowing the different stages of signal processing to be separated. This architecture is combined with AKM's Velvet Sound technology and Eversolo's AuralEngine. The DMP-A8 Master Edition Gen 2 therefore supports PCM files up to 32bit / 768kHz and native DSD512 streams. The digital inputs and outputs nevertheless have different capabilities depending on their interface: USB-B, USB Audio and HDMI I²S can reach 32bit / 768kHz and DSD512, while optical/coaxial inputs and outputs are limited to 24bit / 192kHz and DSD64 via DoP.

Eversolo DMP-A8 Master Edition Gen 2: AuralEngine and Bit-Perfect Playback

The DMP-A8 Master Edition Gen 2 uses the proprietary Eversolo AuralEngine audio engine combined with the EOS engine. This architecture makes it possible to bypass sample rate conversions imposed by certain software layers in order to maintain a bit-perfect signal path. The system also supports audio upsampling up to 16x as well as numerous high-resolution formats, including FLAC, WAV, APE, DSD and MQA. Digital processing can also be complemented by a 20-band parametric equalizer, with frequency, gain and Q factor adjustment.

Eversolo DMP-A8 Master Edition Gen 2: Balanced R2R Analog Preamplification

The DMP-A8 Master Edition Gen 2 features a true balanced analog preamplifier equipped with an R2R volume control. It uses a precision resistor network to perform attenuation in the analog domain and preserve signal resolution. The RCA and XLR analog inputs allow external sources to be integrated, while the RCA and XLR outputs can be connected directly to a power amplifier or active speakers. The output level reaches 4.2Vrms via XLR and 2.1Vrms via RCA. The published measurements indicate a THD+N of 0.000075% at the XLR output and 0.000086% at the RCA output.

Eversolo DMP-A8 Master Edition Gen 2: evotune™ PRO Room Acoustic Correction

The DMP-A8 Master Edition Gen 2 integrates the evotune™ PRO room acoustic correction system. It analyzes the system's response in the room and then generates a correction filter adapted to the listening environment. The processing notably relies on FIR filters and takes frequency and phase variations into account to improve playback coherence. The system supports dedicated USB measurement microphones as well as smartphone microphones, and can be supplemented by a 20-band PEQ, loudness adjustment and advanced dynamic management.

Eversolo DMP-A8 Master Edition Gen 2: OCXO Clock, PLL and 10MHz Input

The Master Edition Gen 2 version features a more sophisticated clock architecture than the DMP-A8 Gen 2. It combines a temperature-compensated OCXO oscillator, PLL technology and low-phase-noise femtosecond clocks to ensure particularly precise synchronization of the various digital circuits. A 10MHz external clock input with a 50Ω impedance also allows the DMP-A8 Master Edition Gen 2 to be integrated into a system equipped with an external master clock. This architecture is designed to improve the signal's temporal stability and reduce jitter.

Eversolo DMP-A8 Master Edition Gen 2: Streaming, DLNA and Music Services

Thanks to its comprehensive network platform, the DMP-A8 Master Edition Gen 2 provides access to numerous online music services, including Qobuz, Tidal, Amazon Music, Apple Music, Spotify, Deezer, HIGHRESAUDIO, IDAGIO, SoundCloud and Presto Music. It also supports Spotify Connect Lossless, Tidal Connect, Qobuz Connect, DLNA/UPnP and Network Audio Adapter. DLNA compatibility notably provides access to libraries stored on a NAS or network server. The system also supports SMB, NFS and WebDAV protocols for accessing content stored on various network devices.

Eversolo DMP-A8 Master Edition Gen 2: Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4 and SFP Network

The DMP-A8 Master Edition Gen 2 features particularly comprehensive network connectivity with a Gigabit RJ45 Ethernet port, a dual-band Wi-Fi 6 controller operating at 2.4 and 5GHz, and an optical SFP port. The latter interface allows a fully optical network connection to be established in order to electrically isolate the network section. Wireless Bluetooth connectivity is based on a Qualcomm QCC3095 module and uses Bluetooth 5.4 for reception.
