LHY Audio's EFI implements complete galvanic isolation through optical conversion, transforming the RJ45 Ethernet signal into fibre optic transmission before reconverting it to copper format at the output. This physical break in the electrical path mechanically eliminates ground loops between source and destination, while the absence of conductive continuity removes common mode noise and electromagnetic interference that can degrade data flow timing. The architecture is based on a linear power supply incorporating the LT3042 ultra-low noise regulator in PNP topology, ensuring stable power supply to the optical conversion circuits without introducing high-frequency parasitic components.
