The AsciLab A6B are passive bookshelf speakers offering precise, powerful sound reproduction in a compact format. These 2-way speakers feature a 1“ alumina ceramic dome tweeter with custom waveguide and phase tapping, combined with a 6.5” Purifi aluminum woofer, all housed in an enclosure with two Purifi passive radiators. The Purifi 6.5" passive radiators provide a considerable boost at low frequencies. The frequency response of the A6B goes down to 32Hz (-6dB). Their design allows for lower crossover points and reduced distortion, for an extremely clear sound reproduction. The A6B feature a fourth-order crossover at 1kHz, optimized via Klippel NFS, and support up to 500W of amplification. These premium loudspeakers are ideal for demanding audiophile or professional studio use.
AsciLab A6B tweeters feature a waveguide and internal phase plug designed to precisely manage sound dispersion. These elements avoid phase interference, reduce internal resonance and improve off-axis dispersion. The advantages of this type of configuration translate into a more linear frequency response, reduced distortion and better spatialization of sound, offering a more coherent soundstage.
Despite their relatively compact size, the 6.5" Purifi woofers of the AsciLab A6B speakers are capable of sounding spaces of up to 25m², thanks to their powerful, well-defined bass. The aluminum cone ensures perfect low-frequency reproduction. It provides exceptional rigidity for faithful, distortion-free reproduction, even at high volume, thanks to a strong limitation of cone deformation at high sound pressure. Powerful and dynamic, these Purifi woofers deliver near-perfect performance.
AsciLab A6B speakers feature a passive radiator at the rear. These limit unwanted resonance while optimizing low-frequency reproduction. This solution also helps reduce distortion at high volumes, unlike a bass-reflex port, which can generate turbulence. AsciLab has also chosen to integrate two passive radiators to maintain a relatively compact speaker design.
The materials used in the A6B crossover system are non-magnetic, to avoid any hysteresis effects that could cause energy dissipation and distortion. Furthermore, each loudspeaker is tuned using a Klippel NFS system, for precise rendering.
