The Aiyima H4 is a portable USB DAC based on ESS ES9039Q2M conversion, designed to act as an interface between mobile digital sources and headphone listening. It supports streams up to 32bit 768kHz PCM and DSD512, utilising a conversion architecture combined with dedicated analogue stages to preserve signal integrity whilst keeping power consumption under control.
Designed for both portable and desktop use, it combines headphone amplification, multi-platform compatibility and built-in controls, allowing it to adapt directly to different listening environments, such as computers, smartphones or games consoles. This approach enables it to function as a standalone conversion and amplification unit, whilst maintaining stable sound reproduction that can be adjusted to suit the headphones or usage conditions.
Aiyima H4: ES9039Q2M DAC for high-end conversions
The H4 utilises an ESS ES9039Q2M chip to deliver high-quality sound whilst maintaining minimal power consumption and offering versatile sound adjustment capabilities, enabling faithful reproduction up to 32bit 768kHz PCM and DSD512.
In addition, the H4 features two independent RT6863 operational amplifier chips to minimise noise and distortion, delivering a pure, natural sound.
Aiyima H4: Connectivity and Versatility
The Aiyima H4 is easily compatible with a wide range of headphones thanks to its ability to deliver up to 25mW via its 3.5mm single-ended jack output and up to 240mW via its 4.4mm balanced jack outputs.
The built-in six-strand OFC braided cable ensures a stable signal and clear sound. Furthermore, UAC 1.0 mode enables compatibility with gaming consoles up to 16bit 48kHz PCM, which can be activated by holding down the M button whilst powering on the DAC. This versatility is further enhanced by compatibility with most platforms, including macOS, iOS, Android and Windows.
Aiyima H4: Built-in display and features
The H4 is designed to be a comprehensive unit, featuring 8 PCM filter modes for customising the sound, as well as a two-level gain control (high/low) optimised for headphone output, allowing you to adjust the gain visually. The aluminium casing features an integrated OLED screen for monitoring sound settings, whilst HID mode allows for easy playback control via the side buttons (play/pause/previous/next).
