The CrinEar Protocol Max portable headphone amplifier and DAC is a device based on audiophile components to meet the needs of a demanding audience. It is based on two CS43198 DAC chips for digital-to-analog conversion and dual SGM8262-2 OPAmps for amplification. The Protocol Max is therefore capable of supporting sampling rates up to PCM 32bit 384kHz and DSD256 while delivering 600mW into 16Ω (Boost Mode). Added to this is a parametric EQ function with the browser-based Hangout.Audio Graph Tool. In terms of connectivity, there is a USB-C input, a single-ended 3.5mm jack output, and a balanced 4.4mm jack output. Finally, the overall design is simple and sleek, with a solid aluminum casing and tempered glass for maximum effect.
CrinEar Protocol Max: Powerful headphone amplifier DAC
Equipped with two Cirrus Logic CS43198 DACs and two SG Micro SGM8262-2 operational amplifiers, the Protocol Max offers crystal-clear resolution, extended dynamics, and distortion-free amplification. It supports high-resolution sampling rates up to PCM 32-bit 384kHz and DSD256, and has sufficient output power to drive headphones and IEMs with impedances ranging from 16 to 300 ohms.

Thanks to the Hangout.Audio Graph Tool, available directly in your browser via a Windows or OSX computer, the Protocol Max can store equalization profiles to customize the sound output.
