The iFi Audio iDSD Valkyrie is a portable DAC with a built-in headphone amplifier, designed for high-resolution playback and driving demanding loads. It supports PCM streams up to 768kHz and native DSD up to DSD512, with internal upsampling to DSD1024 via FPGA, utilising a Burr-Brown quad DAC architecture to improve linearity and channel separation. This digital foundation is complemented by an amplification stage capable of delivering up to 5700mW peak power, enabling it to provide power supply for both low- and high-impedance headphones whilst maintaining stable dynamics.

Designed for portable or hybrid use, it combines extensive wired connectivity with Bluetooth streaming featuring aptX Lossless, LDAC or LHDC, enabling playback at up to 24bit 96kHz without any noticeable intermediate conversion, whilst its 20000mAh power supply provides up to 18 hours of listening time whilst minimising mains-related interference. This approach is further enhanced by the integration of K2HD processing, which restores harmonics above 22kHz to add depth to compressed recordings, thereby enabling the Valkyrie to act as a central link between various digital sources and high-fidelity headphones, whilst maintaining consistent sound reproduction throughout the entire system.
