The Muse HiFi M6 Double is a portable DAC with a headphone amplifier designed for the conversion and amplification of high-resolution audio streams on the go. It features a custom ES9039 architecture compatible with 32bit 768kHz PCM and DSD512, combined with JAN6418 tubes, whilst a dual Accusilicon oscillator ensures low-jitter reclocking to stabilise signal reconstruction and preserve the temporal coherence of the processed stream.
Building on this design, it incorporates two Nixie tubes for the volume display, converting the level into a striking high-voltage analogue light display.
The M6 Double is based on a architecture developed around a customised ES9039 chip, designed to seamlessly integrate a digital-to-analogue conversion section with JAN6418 tube amplification. This approach aims to limit electromagnetic interference caused by Bluetooth transmissions, thereby preserving the integrity of the output signal whilst supporting input signals up to 32bit 768kHz PCM and DSD512.

The JAN6418 tubes are integrated with a dedicated mechanical suspension system, comprising specialised damping components and a decoupled design, to minimise vibrations transmitted to the circuitry. This stabilisation reduces microphonic effects whilst maintaining consistent electrical conduction, resulting in a more stable sound reproduction when used on the go.
The M6 Double features a pair of Nixie tubes for displaying the volume level, a retro visual solution powered by a dedicated high-voltage power supply (170V + 25V) stabilised by capacitive modules made from rare metals. This approach, beyond its vintage aesthetic, forms part of an architecture designed to maintain controlled heat dissipation, with the tubes operating at a constant temperature, ensuring that this solution has no negative impact on the rest of the circuit.

The digital signal management system is based on two Accusilicon AS318B oscillators (45.1584MHz and 49.152MHz), which provide a low-jitter reference clock for the entire architecture. This reclocking standardises the timing of the audio stream prior to conversion, thereby reducing synchronisation errors and improving the consistency of the processed signal, without the need for corrective processing at a later stage.
The integration of the Qualcomm QCC5125 SoC, based on a dual-DSP and dual-core CPU architecture, ensures the simultaneous management of audio streams and system processes, stabilising Bluetooth transmission whilst maintaining low latency. This hardware platform supports LDAC and aptX Adaptive codecs, thereby expanding wireless applications whilst maintaining a transmission quality suitable for high-resolution audio streams.
