ALSOZONE PAM252 TPA3255 Stereo Power Amplifier 2x 260W 4 Ohm
The ALSOZONE PAM252 is a Class D stereo power amplifier based on two TPA3255 circuits configured in PBTL, designed for Hi-Fi and home theater systems requiring high-power amplification. Each channel can deliver up to 260W into 4 Ohm at 1% THD, with a maximum power of 450W into 2 Ohm and 150W into 8 Ohm per channel. Its PBTL architecture with PFFB technology, high-efficiency GaN switching power supply and Hi-Fi components are designed to combine power, efficiency and low distortion. The PAM252 features unbalanced RCA and balanced XLR/TRS inputs, selectable individually, two gain levels per channel, speaker outputs with binding posts compatible with banana plugs, as well as a 12V Trigger input and output, allowing multiple devices to be daisy-chained. It also features an Auto On/Off mode, a front-panel power button and a universal power supply compatible with 100-230V mains.
ALSOZONE PAM252: PBTL and PFFB technology, and GaN power supply
The PAM252 uses a PBTL (Parallel Bridge-Tied Load) architecture: two half-bridges are connected in parallel on each channel to increase the available current and reduce the RDS(on) resistance of the output MOSFETs. Combined with PFFB (Post Filter Feedback) technology, this design aims to maintain good audio performance at high power. At 1% THD, the amplifier reaches 450 W into 2 Ohm, 260 W into 4 Ohm and 150 W into 8 Ohm per channel; at 10% THD, the specified figures are 320 W into 4 Ohm and 200 W into 8 Ohm per channel. The PAM252 supports speakers with an impedance between 2 and 16 Ohm.
The PAMX range also uses a high-efficiency GaN (Gallium Nitride) switching power supply. The PAM252 has a THD+N of 0.0007% into 4 Ohm and 0.0006% into 8 Ohm at 5 W, a signal-to-noise ratio of 121 dB with an unbalanced input and 124 dB with a balanced input, a frequency response of 20 Hz to 30 kHz at ±0.5 dB, noise below 20 µVrms and crosstalk of -100 dB in unbalanced mode and -110 dB in balanced mode.
ALSOZONE PAM252: Comprehensive connectivity and flexible control
The PAM252 offers connectivity suited to Hi-Fi and professional sources, with one Single-Ended RCA input and one balanced XLR/TRS input per channel, selected via a switch. The gain level can be set individually to one of two levels: 23/29dB with an unbalanced input and 17/23dB with a balanced input, corresponding to input sensitivities of 2/1Vrms and 4/2Vrms, respectively. The speaker outputs use binding posts compatible with banana plugs.
The rear panel also includes a 12V DC Trigger input on a 3.5mm jack and a Trigger Through output for passing the signal to another device and creating a daisy-chain configuration. Auto mode switches the unit on automatically when an audio signal is detected, then switches it to standby after 20 minutes without a signal. The front-panel power button takes priority over Trigger and Auto modes.
The PAM252 also features protection against overvoltage, overcurrent and overheating, as well as status and clipping LED indicators for each channel. Its steel chassis with a machined aluminum front panel measures 260 × 265 × 90mm, including 8mm feet, and weighs 3.1kg.
