The Berrybak PS-SP16113 GCB-60 is a 12V capacitor-based power filter, designed to stabilize the voltage delivered by a battery in an onboard audio system. It relies on a 122400µF capacitance and a 60A RMS current handling capability, allowing it to absorb rapid consumption variations while maintaining a more stable power supply to amplifiers.
Intended for car audio installations or any system operating on a 12V battery, it combines energy storage, noise filtering and electrical protection, allowing voltage drops and interference related to switching power supplies to be reduced. This approach enables it to be integrated between the battery and the amplifier, while maintaining stable operation during dynamic demands.
The GCB-60 relies on a total capacitance of 122400µF, achieved through 18 capacitors of 6800µF with low ESR, allowing the creation of an energy reserve that can be immediately mobilized during rapid current demands. This architecture limits voltage drops during heavy loads, particularly at low frequencies, thereby maintaining a more consistent power supply to the amplifier.
This capacitance is combined with a 60A RMS and 90A peak current capability, enabling it to respond to rapid demand variations without causing power supply voltage sag. The use of MOSFETs with low internal resistance facilitates current flow between the battery and the audio system, while limiting losses and heat generation, thereby maintaining a more stable power supply in an onboard environment (car, utility vehicle or equivalent 12V installation).

The combination of high capacitance and low ESR capacitors ensures voltage variation filtering, by limiting ripple from the battery and switching power supplies. This stabilization reduces parasitic noise such as hum and interference, allowing a cleaner audio signal to be maintained.
This energy reserve improves response during rapid load variations, by providing immediate support to the amplifier during demand peaks, which limits dynamic drops during the most demanding passages. The module thus stabilizes the power supply, enabling more consistent operation of the entire onboard audio system.
The module integrates comprehensive electrical protection management, including reverse polarity protection, reverse current blocking and adjustable undervoltage protection (8.8V, 11.0V, 12.9V), allowing the battery and installation to be secured in abnormal conditions. This safety is complemented by overcurrent protection via two 40A fuses associated with electronic control, as well as overvoltage protection ensuring controlled operation within a 11 to 16V range.
Integration relies on DC connectivity with 1 input and 1 output via JSZ214A screw terminals. The soft start over approximately 3 seconds limits inrush current when connecting to a 12V battery, preventing sparks and eliminating the need for pre-charge.
Power and charge LED indicators allow quick status verification of the module. The GCB-60 integrates directly between the battery and the amplifier, where it stabilizes the power supply in a car audio installation or any 12V-powered system.
