The Ampapa H1 is a Class A headphone amplifier with preamplifier function, designed to drive a wide variety of headphones while integrating into a Hi-Fi setup. It delivers up to 4000mW of power and relies on ECC83 tubes custom-made by PSVANE, combining substantial output headroom with a warmer sound reproduction.
Intended for sedentary listening as well as scalable audio systems, it brings together balanced and single-ended headphone outputs, gain adjustment and preamplification connectivity. This versatility allows it to drive a headphone or control a power amplifier, while its 12V trigger, replaceable op-amp and machined aluminum enclosure make it easy to integrate and adapt over the long term.
The Ampapa H1 is a Class A headphone amplifier, supplied with ECC83 amplification tubes custom-made by PSVANE. This design favors a warmer sound reproduction, with smooth bass, while its 4000 mW output power lets it drive various headphones with headroom suited to their needs.


Its headphone connectivity combines an XLR 4-pin output, a 6.35 mm jack and a 4.4 mm jack, to adapt the connection to the various balanced and single-ended standards. The three gain levels make it easy to adjust the output level according to the sensitivity and impedance of the headphone, while the RCA and 6.35mm jack outputs allow the device to be used as a preamplifier. The 12V trigger completes this architecture by allowing its integration into a Hi-Fi system with a synchronized power-on control.
The processing stage integrates an LME49720 mounted on a DIP8 socket, allowing its replacement without permanent modification of the circuit. This design allows experimentation with other compatible operational amplifiers, in order to gradually adapt the sound behavior of the device according to the components used.


Level adjustment relies on an NJW1195 chip, which ensures precise attenuation of the signal while limiting level differences between the left and right channels. This architecture thus maintains a stable stereo image, even during low-volume listening.
The electronics are housed in a CNC-machined aluminum enclosure, whose structure ensures both the protection of the circuits and passive dissipation of the heat produced by Class A amplification. This construction is suitable for sedentary use on a desk or in a Hi-Fi cabinet, where it complements the extensive connectivity of the Ampapa H1.
