I’m not usually one to leave reviews, but this Master 9 MK3 truly deserves it.
At the moment, I’m using it as a preamplifier in a fully balanced audio chain. It’s heavy and really does consume 40W!
I’ve completed the recommended 300 hours of burn-in and always wait until it’s nicely warmed up before judging it. It gets quite warm, operating at around 45°C.
The sound is incredible… 16-bit 44.1 kHz music is transformed, and now, with well-recorded tracks, I can no longer clearly perceive a difference compared to 24-bit music! I know it sounds unbelievable, but that’s how it is! The music loses that digital flavor while still remaining extremely detailed. The sound is open, dynamic, yet smooth and never fatiguing. That’s the magic of Class A! A very capable and refined preamplifier with excellent volume control.
