The Audio-Technica AT-VM95C is the entry-level conical catridge in the VM95 series, designed as the successor to the AT91, AT91R and CN5625AL models. It embodies a perfect balance between reliable sound quality and affordability, making the quality vinyl experience accessible to a wider audience. Ideal for those new to the world of vinyl or looking for a simple, effective solution for their turntable, the VM95C offers clear, balanced sound reproduction, true to Audio-Technica's heritage.
Key features:
At the heart of the AT-VM95C is a 0.6mil tapered stylus, mounted on a sturdy, lightweight aluminum cantilever. This configuration guarantees efficient tracking of your disc's groove, minimizing wear while offering a frequency response from 20Hz to 20kHz. With an output voltage of 4.0mV (at 1kHz, 5cm/sec), it produces a robust signal that adapts easily to most phono preamplifiers. Channel separation of 18dB and a channel balance of 2.5dB ensure a coherent soundstage, essential for pleasant listening. The cartridge's rigid, low-resonance body contributes to signal purity, minimizing unwanted noise and parasitic resonances.
Like all cartridges in the VM95 series, the AT-VM95C is designed for ease of installation. It incorporates threaded inserts directly into its body, enabling direct, secure mounting on the headshell or tone arm without the need for additional nuts. This feature greatly simplifies the installation process, even for the less experienced. But the VM95C's versatility doesn't stop there: its body is compatible with all VM95 series replacement stylus (elliptical, bare elliptical, microlinear, and Shibata). This means you can easily upgrade your cell and refine your listening experience over time, without having to replace the entire cell body.
The AT-VM95C is designed for long-lasting use. The conical stylus has an estimated lifespan of around 500 listening hours. After this period, we recommend replacing it to maintain optimum sound quality and protect your vinyl records. Thanks to the compatibility of the VM95 series, replacing the stylus (reference AT-VMN95C) is a simple and economical process, guaranteeing that your cartridge can be used for an almost infinite period. The recommended vertical contact force is 1.8 to 2.2g (2.0g standard), ensuring precise tracking and minimal wear. Accessories such as screws of various sizes and washers are included for easy installation.
