The Furutech FT-SWS-NCF PLUS (R) is a Schuko wall socket that represents a direct evolution of the FT-SWS-NCF model, retaining its fundamental principles whilst enhancing its mechanical and electrical capabilities. It retains the architecture based on cryogenically treated and demagnetised α (Alpha) copper conductors, to which a non-magnetic rhodium plating has now been added, in order to stabilise conductivity and reduce contact impedance over time.
Designed for high-fidelity systems where the quality of the power supply determines the overall performance of the system, this ‘PLUS’ version further enhances the integration of NCF material and mechanical damping, thereby better mitigating the effects of vibrations and electrostatic charges. This approach enables it to enhance electrical continuity at the point of distribution, whilst maintaining consistent operational stability in demanding and evolving setups.
The two-stage α (Alpha) process developed by Furutech significantly improves the device’s performance. This treatment begins during the manufacturing process with the deep cryogenic freezing of all metal components. Using specific refrigerants, such as liquid nitrogen or helium, Furutech achieves temperatures ranging from -196°C to -250°C. The treated parts undergo a change in their molecular structure, thereby relieving internal stresses. The molecules bond more tightly together and the overall structure becomes more stable. This improves electrical conductivity and, consequently, the transfer of power and signals.
The second stage of the α (Alpha) treatment subjects these same parts to the patented ring demagnetisation process. Ordinary high-power magnets used for this purpose often increase magnetic effects and leave certain areas more magnetised than others. This patented process uses controlled attenuation to completely eliminate magnetisation, thereby achieving better performance, including in terms of conductivity.

Incorporated into a selection of Furutech products, NCF is based on a special crystalline material with two active properties. Firstly, NCF generates negative ions that eliminate static electricity. Secondly, it converts thermal energy into infrared radiation. Furutech combines this material with ceramic nanoparticles and carbon powder for their piezoelectric damping properties. Furutech thus achieves the optimal material for electrical and mechanical damping.
This development incorporates enhanced mechanical engineering based on a Zn-Mg alloy front plate combined with a redesigned carbon fibre, whilst an extended multi-layer damping architecture more effectively dissipates structural resonances, thereby limiting their propagation to the contact points. This approach is further enhanced by the integration of a hybrid carbon fibre/TPU coating, which absorbs residual micro-vibrations whilst stabilising the mechanical interface, resulting in more consistent contact under real-world conditions.
Beyond the structure itself, the optimisation of the internal supports enhances overall rigidity, whilst the new generation of FURUTECH’s pressure plate system increases the conductor contact area, reducing junction impedance and ensuring a secure connection. At the same time, the α (Alpha) copper conductors now feature a non-magnetic rhodium plating, combined with a non-magnetic stainless steel spring that maintains constant pressure, thereby ensuring a stable and consistent connection over the long term, particularly with Schuko plugs subjected to repeated insertion cycles.
