6-to-2 Reversible RCA Source Selector

This passive source selector lets you manually manage several audio devices equipped with RCA connections, without power supply or active signal processing. Its bidirectional configuration allows connecting six inputs to two outputs, or two inputs to six outputs, in order to adapt routing to different stereo setups. With its unity gain, low insertion loss and direct mechanical control, it is suitable for source selection as well as for distributing a signal between several devices.

Passive operation

This source selector is a passive audio switch designed to centralize several devices equipped with RCA connections. With no power supply or active stage, it operates at unity gain and adds no processing to the signal, while its metal enclosure limits the circuit's exposure to external interference.

Bidirectional routing

Its main configuration allows connecting six stereo inputs to two RCA outputs, letting you manually select a source to feed an amplifier, a preamplifier or a pair of active speakers. Used in reverse, it also accepts two inputs and six outputs, in order to distribute a single signal between several audio devices. This versatility makes the selector suitable both for source switching and for comparing different systems.

Features and control

Compatible with devices presenting an impedance between 10kΩ and 50kΩ, it covers a frequency response from 20Hz to 20kHz, with distortion below 0.002%, insertion loss below 0.01dB and a signal-to-noise ratio above 98dB. Selection is performed manually via mechanical switches dedicated to the six input channels and the two output channels, providing direct access to analog routing without external power supply.
