DAC EP3A
DAC ES9038Q2M USB XMOS U208 32bit 384kHz DSD512 Bluetooth aptX FPGA
The EP3A is a small DAC with integrated headphone amplifier, in a compact and affordable format but still very powerful. Its black CNC machined aluminum chassis conceals a DAC ESS ES9038Q2M chip capable of high quality conversion. The conversion stage is supported by many very high quality components, contributing to the high quality of reproduction of this system.

For the conversion of digital signals to analog, this EP3A uses an excellent ES9038Q2M chip from ESS. This provides high performance with support for high resolution sampling rates up to 32bit 384kHz and DSD256 for the EP3A. In addition, this chip uses the proprietary 32bit HyperStream II architecture and Time Domain Jitter Eliminator technology to ensure both an excellent dynamic range and a very good THD. A conversion that allows in short a sound reproduction with transparency and precision.
Altera FPGA & USB XMOS U208 Interface
If the chip selected for this DAC ensures excellent sound reproduction, the rest of the components are not left out. Thus, there is a clock management system thanks to the Altera FPGA, which ensures the perfect synchronization of audio signals. This allows a drastic reduction of the jitter for a largely attenuated noise.
For its USB interface, the EP3A chooses an XMOS chip, a manufacturer now recognized by the audiophile world for the quality of its USB chips. This supports high sampling rates and ensures reliable signal transmission.
Display
The EP3A is equipped with a 0.96" OLED display to display all information related to playback. This includes the display of the active source, the selected filter, the sampling rate detected for the file being played and the volume level. Readable and clear, it provides access to all useful information at a glance, while contributing to the design of the device.

Connectivity & Controls
For its connectivity, the EP3A offers a fairly complete panel that will allow the connection of most of your audio devices. The input includes a USB-B 2.0 connector, SPDIF Coaxial, Toslink Optics and Bluetooth to stream your audio files directly from your smartphone / tablet. On the analog output side, the DAC offers RCA Stereo (L/R) but also a 6.35mm Jack format output on the front panel for headphone listening, thanks to the amplification circuit integrated in the EP3A.
In terms of controls, the device is simple and efficient with only 3 buttons on the front panel. These are used to turn the unit on/off, adjust the volume, change the filter and select a source.

A clean power supply signal
The DAC also equips itself with a quality power supply circuit to reduce output noise. It thus integrates no less than 5 ultra-low LDO ripple LP5907MFX allowing to reach a noise lower than 10uVrms and a rejection rate of only 82dB.
