The SMSL SU2 is a compact DAC built around audiophile-grade components. The digital-to-analog conversion is handled by an ESS ES9039Q2M DAC chip, allowing it to support streams up to PCM 24bit 192kHz and DSD DoP64 while delivering excellent technical performance, including a 130dB dynamic range and THD+N as low as 0.00006%. A set of four OPA1612 op-amps enables the SU2 to deliver an output level of 4.7Vrms via balanced XLR and 2.3Vrms via its RCA output. In terms of inputs, it offers a full range of optical connectivity including Toslink optical, coaxial, and AES/EBU, ensuring perfect compatibility with many sources such as a CD player or digital transport.
