The Kiwi Ears Astral are premium hybrid in-ear monitors (IEMs) designed for demanding audiophiles and audio professionals seeking accurate and detailed sound reproduction. Their architecture is based on a combination of seven drivers per earpiece, featuring a 10mm dynamic driver with a bioceramic diaphragm dedicated to low frequencies and six Balanced Armature drivers handling the midrange and treble frequencies. This hybrid configuration delivers excellent bass extension, highly accurate mids, and airy high-frequency reproduction. The Astral adopt Kiwi Ears' signature tuning with a 9dB sub-bass boost, neutral mids, and extended treble. They feature an impedance of 23Ω, a sensitivity of 105dB (±1dB), a frequency response of 10Hz to 22kHz, and a total harmonic distortion rate below 1%. They come supplied with a 1.2-meter detachable cable, allowing easy replacement or upgrades according to user preferences.

The Kiwi Ears Astral feature a sophisticated hybrid design combining the advantages of a dynamic driver with several specialized Balanced Armature drivers.
The bass range is handled by a 10mm dynamic driver developed by Kiwi Ears and equipped with a bioceramic diaphragm. This driver delivers powerful and natural low-frequency reproduction with excellent sub-bass extension while maintaining speed and control.
For mids and highs, the Astral incorporate six Balanced Armature drivers. Two dual-armature units are dedicated to the midrange, while a dual high-frequency driver based on a modified SWFK architecture handles treble and ultra-high frequencies. This distribution ensures extremely detailed sound reproduction and excellent instrument separation.
Kiwi Ears Astral: A Sound Signature True to the Kiwi Ears Philosophy
The Astral adopt Kiwi Ears' in-house sound signature, designed to offer both musicality and neutrality.
The sub-bass benefits from an approximately 9dB boost to provide depth, impact, and physical presence to low frequencies. This emphasis remains perfectly controlled thanks to a smooth transition into a linear and balanced midrange.
The mids are optimized around 2.8kHz to reproduce vocals and instruments naturally while respecting human auditory perception. This approach ensures excellent intelligibility and realistic timbre reproduction.
Kiwi Ears Astral: Extended Treble and Immersive Soundstage
The treble range is handled by a dual high-frequency Balanced Armature driver specifically optimized to provide smooth and consistent extension into the highest frequencies.
This design preserves micro-details, reverberation, and spatial information while avoiding excessive harshness. The treble therefore brings airiness, openness, and a particularly convincing sense of space.
Combined with carefully engineered crossover filtering and seamless integration between the various drivers, this presentation helps create a wide, precise, and immersive soundstage.
