The xDuoo Link3 is a portable headphone amplifier DAC featuring a dual ES9039Q2M architecture, designed to convert and amplify high-resolution audio signals on the go. It supports streams up to 32bit 768kHz PCM and DSD512, utilising a 16-core XMOS XU316 USB interface to ensure stable, low-latency transmission, resulting in accurate reproduction with a signal-to-noise ratio of up to 130dB. This technical foundation is complemented by an amplification capacity of up to 1000mW into 32Ω via a balanced output, thereby maintaining usable dynamics with both low- and medium-impedance headphones.
xDuoo Link3: Architecture and performance
For its digital-to-analogue conversion stage, the Link3 utilises two ES9039Q2M chips to support signals up to 32bit 768kHz PCM and DSD512. Furthermore, it incorporates a 16-core XMOS XU316 USB receiver chip, which minimises latency and enables precise audio transmission. These high-quality chips ensure conversion with impressive precision, delivering a signal-to-noise ratio of nearly 130dB and a harmonic distortion figure of just -120dB.
With an output power of 700 mW at 32 Ω in standard power mode and 1000 mW at 32 Ω when powered via an external USB source, the Link3 is perfectly capable of driving both low-impedance earbuds and high-impedance headphones.
xDuoo Link3: Connections
The Link 10 is equipped with two headphone jacks: a 3.5mm single-ended jack and a 4.4mm balanced jack, ensuring compatibility with the vast majority of existing headphone and earbud models. Furthermore, in the spirit of broad compatibility, the Link 10 also features UAC 1.0 mode for use with devices such as game consoles, thanks in part to its detachable 8-core USB-C cable, which eliminates interference and separates the power supply from the signal.
To expand the device’s storage capacity, the Link3 features a microSD card slot supporting cards of up to 2TB, allowing you to store an impressive amount of music.
xDuoo Link3: Aesthetics and listening comfort
For volume control, the Link3 features precise 100-step digital adjustment, ensuring that sound quality remains consistent regardless of the impedance and sensitivity of each pair of headphones or earbuds. It also features a TFT display and an LED indicator showing the active sampling rate. Both practical and stylish, the Link3 features an anodized aluminum alloy body and glass panels.
