DOUK AUDIO H5 MM Phono Preamplifier with GE-4BZ6 Tubes

The DOUK AUDIO H5 is a MM tube phono preamplifier designed to integrate a turntable or an RCA source into a stereo or 2.1 HiFi system. It combines a MM Phono input compatible with moving-magnet cartridges with an RCA Line In input for connecting a DAC, CD player, streamer, computer or other analog source. Its GE-4BZ6 tube stage, powered at 180V, provides a warm sound and rich midrange, while its ±6 dB Bass/Treble tone control allows the sound to be quickly adjusted.

The H5 also features two RCA outputs delivering the same signal simultaneously, as well as a SUB Out with a switchable 180 or 250Hz low-pass filter, making it easier to integrate an active subwoofer. A 20Hz high-pass filter is also available on the Phono input to limit unwanted very low frequencies, particularly those caused by vibrations and the mechanical wow of records.

DOUK AUDIO H5: Subwoofer Output with 180/250Hz Low-Pass Filter

The H5 features two RCA outputs as well as a SUB Out dedicated to an active subwoofer. The latter uses a switchable 180 or 250Hz low-pass filter, allowing the frequency range sent to the subwoofer to be limited and facilitating its integration with the main speakers. The maximum SUB output level reaches 3.2V at 180Hz and 5.5V at 250Hz.

The two main RCA outputs retain a full-band signal and can simultaneously power two amplifiers or two active speakers. The volume control operates jointly on the RCA outputs and SUB Out, while the bass and treble controls do not affect the SUB output.

In Phono mode, the 20 Hz high-pass filter helps reduce unwanted infrasonic components, particularly those caused by turntable vibrations and record warping.
