DAC ES9038PRO XMOS I2S CPLD Accusilicon Bluetooth 5.0 32bit 768kHz DSD512 MQA
Gustard offers with its X18 a versatile and extremely powerful DAC, capable of high quality digital/analog conversion for the most accurate and faithful sound reproduction.
At the heart of this X18 is a digital/analog conversion stage using an ESS ES9038Pro chip, known for its incredible performance and its ability to provide a particularly accurate and transparent sound reproduction. The chip has here an independent power supply allowing it to reveal its full potential.
The embedded Altera Max V CPLD incorporates a number of technologies, including clock management, PLL, DoP decoder and digital filters.
The X18 has no less than eight independent I/V converters, each dedicated to a channel of the DAC, using OPA1612 AOPs. These offer excellent measurements with extremely low distortion and noise levels. Resistors with a tolerance of 0.1% are used for the key sections of this I/V converter.
Two Accusilicon A5318-B clocks ensure perfect synchronization of the audio signal for a particularly low jitter level, promoting clear and pure playback.
The USB input of the X18 uses an XMOS XU216 interface. It supports high resolution streams, up to 32bit 768kHz PCM and DSD512, while ensuring accurate and neutral sound.
The Gustard X18 features Bluetooth 5.0 reception, allowing you to stream your music remotely, for example from a smartphone or tablet. The integrated chip supports the high-definition transmission codecs aptX HD and LDAC, ensuring sound quality equal to or better than CD quality.
MQA (Master Quality Authenticated) is an award-winning British technology that restores the sound of the original recording. The MQA Master file is authenticated by the artists, producers or rights holders. These files are light enough to stream or download. The Gustard X18 has a built-in MQA decoder to play these files for the best possible audio quality.
" I live for happy days like this: another instrument grade, exceptionally well engineered audio product in the form of X18. It is clear a ton of effort has gone into providing full transparency to input signal. Yes, the cost is up there but if you want the best, you now have one more option. "
