The York Pico Reclock module for York ISO is a digital audio expansion card designed to improve the quality of I2S and PCM streams from the York Iso module by effectively reducing jitter generated after galvanic isolation. It provides active resynchronization of audio signals (BCK, WCK, DATA) using dedicated D flip-flops, directly clocked by a local master clock. The module supports various high-precision audio oscillator formats (SMD 3225 to 7050, DIP8/DIP14, as well as Crystek CCHD-957) and comes with two 512fs clocks of 22.5792MHz and 24.576MHz, covering the main audio sampling frequencies. It is designed for operation in stereo I2S or 2-channel PCM, the latter being its main use, particularly with conventional multibit or PCM DACs such as the AD1862, PCM63, or TDA1541. The local power supply is based on a low-noise TPS7A2033 regulator to ensure optimal stability of the clocks and logic circuits. This module is exclusively compatible with the Iso version of the York and requires a suitable system configuration to operate an external clock, with the clear objective of optimizing digital audio playback.
To use the Reclock module for York Iso, it must be used exclusively with the Iso version of the York module. The Reclock module acts as an extension dedicated to resynchronizing digital audio signals after galvanic isolation, with the aim of reducing jitter and improving signal timing stability. The Reclock module connects directly to the York Iso via the connectors provided for this purpose. It recovers the digital audio signals output from the York ISO in order to recondition them before they are transmitted to the digital-to-analog converter.
Before commissioning, the York ISO configuration must be set to “external source” for the master clock source. This step is essential to allow the Reclock module to impose its own local clock on the system.
The module can then be used in two distinct configurations: 2-channel stereo I2S output or 2-channel PCM output, the latter being the main application. The BCK, WCK, and DATA signals are resynchronized by the integrated D flip-flops, clocked by the local clock, in order to limit the jitter introduced by galvanic isolation. In PCM mode, the module is designed for direct connection to conventional PCM DACs such as the AD1862, PCM63, or TDA1541. Any other configuration or use with a non-ISO York is not supported.
