DAYTON AUDIO EPIQUE E150MR-4 Speaker Driver Midrange / Full Range

The Dayton Audio Epique E150MR-4 is a 152.4mm (6 inches) wideband midrange speaker designed to cover a frequency range from 70Hz to 7kHz. It operates at an impedance of 4Ω and reaches a sensitivity of 92.6dB, with a power handling of 60W RMS, allowing a higher output level at equivalent voltage while maintaining extended coverage of the midrange register.

Designed for multi-way speakers as well as extended configurations, it relies on a carbon fiber cone whose rigidity limits deformation, while the geometry of the cone and surround contributes to a smooth transition across the usable band. This approach extends to the motor, which integrates an aluminum shorting ring combined with a copper cap, allowing reduction of inductance and flux variations, while the aluminum phase plug promotes dispersion in the upper spectrum. The assembly is supported by a cast aluminum frame, ensuring mechanical rigidity while facilitating heat dissipation during prolonged operation.
