A pair of speakers for sever consideration
Even after the very first days of use, I can state that these are superb speakers.
My listening room is relatively small, some 15 sqm only, so my setup is a near-field one. These speakers provide crystal clear stereo presentation with all details of the recording presented. The soundstage is solid and layered. Even of much played recordings the Ascilab could reveal new details.
The obvious point of comparison, is the pair of Quad S2 speakers I have used until now. They were highly acclaimed upon their debut, and were serving for my satisfaction as well. However, in terms of sound quality the Ascilab is simply a player of a much higher league.
All in all, I just can recommend these speakers for smaller room use without any reservation.
