Clean power. And a lot of it!
Sounds perfect with my Arendal 1723 speakers.

This thing is crazy. I've never in my life heard a quieter amplifier. Well, the Bryston 6B SST I had was pretty close. But that was a $6000 amplifier (and until now was the best power amp I've ever owned). Holding my ear next to the speakers, the only thing I can hear is a very quiet ticking in the ribbon tweeter from (what I assume) is EM noise in the environment (speakers are Elac Carina). That ticking is inaudible from 5 cm away. The typical amp hum is absolutely non-existent. Listening the music (Beck's Sea Change on SACD) is enlightening. I haven't upgraded my surrounds, which are active Tannoy Reveal 6D speakers. Listening with my ear next to the speaker, and the Tannoys have a distinct sound, while the Purifi-driven Elacs sound like... nothing. Just incredible. I've never heard, in my 20 years as an audiophile, a more neutral speaker+amp combination.

Also, the packaging was exceptional, and if you're a minimalist like me, the amp is just glorious. Sturdy, clean design. Feels great in the hand. Binding posts are so sexy I wish I had a reason to use them more. A flawless amp, and worth every cent. Congratulations Audiophonics (and Purifi)!

* One negative: The courier left the package outside my door. This is not acceptable for a 2k€ item. I mentioned this to Audiophonics, and they replied that they'd report it to the courier. Naturally, this is not entirely their fault, so I didn't consider it when rating the amp.
