New version of the TCXO I-Sabre, its architecture is designed to allow you to have all the outputs on the same side when the Raspberry Pi is coupled to the DAC.
Connectors have been added to make the integration of the various components of a DIY reader as simple as possible.

The I-SABRE is now equipped with an advanced power management (ATX type) intended for the proper extinction of the software solution used.
These functions are managed by a PIC and allow different extinction modes depending on the needs (software or hardware).

This converter with unprecedented functions is ideal for transforming a Raspberry Pi 2.0, A + or B + into a high-definition file player.
Equipped with the famous SABRE ES9023, a schematic revised, and capacitors OS-CON this DAC will offer you a soundmusical, dynamic and rich in micro details.

Aimed at the many software solutions dedicated to audio playback on this platform, it allows a simpler implementation than ever before for an incomparable result in this price range.

Aluminum housing specially designed to receive the Pi 2 / Pi 3, the converter and display is also available.

Details on how power management works:

Ignition process:

Push the button
The DAC switches on the PI, the LED flashes while waiting for the "BOOT OK" signal from the PI (GPIO 22)
This signal happens because there is a script that changes the state of the spindle once the pi is started.
Once the signal is received, the led stays on, and the system is in a stable state.

Extinction from the button:

Push the button.
The microcontroller detects the extinguishing order
It sends a "Shutdown" signal on GPIO 17 to launch the extinction script
Once the PI is switched off, the button goes out and waits for a new light.

Extinction from Volumio:

Click on "Power OFF"
The Pi sends a "Shutdown" signal on GPIO 4 to launch the extinction script
Once the PI is switched off, the button goes out and waits for a new light.

Reboot from Volumio:

Click on "Reboot"
The Pi sends a "Reboot" signal to GPIO 4 to start the restart script
Once the PI is restarted, the Boot OK returns and the led of the button is fixed.

Très bon DAC mais la documentation laisse à désirer
Je suis très satisfait de la qualité du son obtenu avec ce DAC.

Mais alors j'ai galéré pour réussir à installer le script gérant le bouton poussoir sur Volumio.
Ceci parce que le lien sur la page du DAC pointe sur les instructions à suivre pour une ancienne version de Volumio.
Le lien donné pointe vers le "Tutoriel I-sabre V3 + Volumio : Gestion d'alimentation". J'ai essayé de suivre ce tuto, sans succès évidemment car je n'avais pas la même version de Volumio. Sans compter que je ne connais pas grand chose aux commandes Linux.

Le bon tuto est : "Tutoriel I-sabre V3 + Volumio2 : Gestion d'alimentation". J'ai eu un peu de mal à le trouver. ici :

En suivant ce tuto, tout se passe sans problème.

Excellent DAC et SAV au top!
J’ai acheté la version précédente de ce produit en 2016 pour complémenter un kit RaspDac DIY, qui m’a donné satisfaction, même si j’ai vite noté la présence d’un bruit de fond qui devenait gênant lorsque j’écoutais de la musique à volume (très) élevé, ce qui est, disons-le, assez rare. Le temps a passé, et ce n’est que récemment que je me suis décidé à parler de ce souffle au SAV d’Audiophonics, car je me demandais si le problème ne venait pas de l’alimentation lambda que j’utilisais. J’ai reçu une réponse très rapide et courtoise de la part de David Aubert, qui m’a proposé quelques tests pour localiser le problème. Après différents essais, il est clairement apparu que le souffle trouvait son origine dans la carte DAC elle-même. David Aubert m’a alors demandé de renvoyer la carte. Après contrôle par le SAV de la réalité de la panne, la carte a été gracieusement échangée pour une V4, et ceci bien que le produit retourné ne soit plus couvert par la garantie ! Le bruit de fond a complètement disparu après montage de la nouvelle carte, mais il s’est avéré que le câblage de l’écran du RaspDac n’était pas le même que sur la V3. Le SAV d’Audiophonics m’a alors envoyé les câbles adéquats, là encore gracieusement.

Merci encore à David Aubert et un grand bravo à Audiophonics pour la qualité exceptionnelle de son SAV !

Great DAC and design
I first bought the complete system with case, pi, dac, etc and was very impressed with the unit and the sound. Having the audio and power on the same side as the I/O on the Pi is a great design and makes for a cleaner config. Wanted the same DAC to use with another piCorePlayer I want to build for another room because the sound quality. Long over due. The fact that it also works with a 2 line OLED display for smaller packages is another bonus.

Very nice sound quality, good build, nice features
I bought this card in combination with the RaspiTouch DIY kit, and together with a touch screen and raspberry pi model 3B+ build it into a dac/music player/storage.
This is a wonderful card with very nice features:
- great power supply connectivity
- Very nice Clock crystal
- Perfect ATX feature for shutting down your pi like a real pc/hifi device

I had some issues getting the connections right as the print on the board is not 100% what is in the manuals. But the support team is very helpfull here and provides descriptions with pictures.

I ended up with a great audio device in a very nice case.
Would buy again.
