The SMSL VMV D3R is an ultra high-performance DAC based on audiophile-grade components. For digital-to-analog conversion, it integrates two ROHM BD34302EKV DAC chips for fully balanced signal processing, combined with an XMOS XU316 USB interface supporting streams up to PCM 32bit 768kHz and DSD512. It also features OCXO oscillators and a CK-04 clock circuit for optimal jitter reduction, along with a fully balanced analog volume control preserving signal integrity. Regarding power supply, the SMSL VMV D3R uses two toroidal transformers, each independently powering the digital and analog circuits. In terms of connectivity, it includes Bluetooth with support for AAC, SBC, aptX HD and LDAC codecs, as well as a full range of digital inputs (USB-C/B, I2S via HDMI, coaxial SPDIF, optical Toslink, etc.) and RCA and balanced XLR outputs. Full and intuitive control of the SMSL VMV D3R is achieved via a remote control and an LCD screen located on the front panel.

The digital and analog circuits are powered independently thanks to two toroidal transformers. This avoids interference between circuits and ensures improved signal processing stability.

The SMSL VMV D3R features a brand-new, clear, and user-friendly interface. It offers convenient features such as lyrics synchronization and the display of track information during Bluetooth playback.
In addition, this device offers a sound profile called “Best Set,” which allows you to automatically configure filter slopes, sampling rates, and gain compensation with a single tap.
