DAYTON AUDIO MB1025-8 Low Midrange / Bass Speaker

The Dayton Audio MB1025-8 is a professional 25.4cm (10") low-midrange speaker designed for high-SPL speakers requiring impact, power handling and low distortion. Its power handling of 350 W RMS, reaching up to 700 W maximum, relies on a 6.35cm (2.5") voice coil and a 40 oz vented ferrite motor to maintain a high output level in two- or three-way configurations. Its sensitivity of 95 dB at 2.83 V/1 m makes it easy to pair with moderate-power amplifiers, while its usable frequency response of 60 to 5,500 Hz allows flexible connection with a tweeter, a compression driver or a dedicated bass section.

The lightweight damped paper cone, combined with a fabric surround and a treated spider, promotes clear and detailed reproduction while limiting resonances when the speaker is driven at high SPL levels. Its maximum linear excursion of 3 mm thus favors control and precision in the low-midrange register, while the venting of the pole piece helps dissipate heat from the voice coil during extended listening.
