Audiophonics HPA-Q400ET 4-Channel Class D Amplifier Purifi 1ET400A 4x400W 4 Ohm
We're proud to present the Audiophonics HPA-Q400ET, a 4-channel Class D power amplifier based on four Purifi 1ET400A modules. This ready-to-install, ready-to-use version is aimed at audiophiles and home theater perfectionists looking for a foolproof amplification solution, with considerable power reserves and impeccable linearity. Purifi modules are among the most rigorous Class D amplification solutions on the market, with measured performance that is nothing short of exceptional.
The result is a high level of sound reproduction, suitable for use with demanding loudspeakers for both Hi-Fi and home cinema applications, for large listening rooms or for studio applications requiring considerable headroom without compromising on the precision and richness of the audio message.
All components are housed in a sober, robust 100% aluminum case with openings and heat sinks to promote heat dissipation. Its design also limits the impact of interference on the signal.
Four Purifi 1ET400A modules
- Each of the four channels of the amplifier circuit uses its own Purifi 1ET400A module. These high-performance Class D amplifier circuits each deliver a very comfortable 200W into 8Ω, while benefiting from the very high efficiency of Class D amplifiers.
- The 1ET400A modules feature a high-gain loop of over 75dB across the entire frequency band, providing high performance across the entire spectrum, surpassing any amplifier of any class.
- Highly effective in terms of intermodulation distortion (IMD), these modules enable the HPA-Q400ET to deliver a soundstage of formidable precision across the entire spectrum, for redoubled clarity, even during the most complex audio works.
- Harmonic distortion (THD) is kept extremely low at all power levels. This translates into an absence of sound signature and the ability to reproduce all types of music without coloration.
- Output noise is negligible, allowing deep silences and favoring the appearance of detail when listening at low volume.
- The circuit benefits from a high level of rejection (PSRR) that minimizes the impact of the power supply on audio performance.
- The load-independent frequency response means you can enjoy all the qualities of this amplification technology, even with the most difficult-to-drive loudspeakers.
- Low quiescent power consumption and electromagnetic radiation (EMI). The high-gain loop considerably relieves the workload on MOSFETs, enabling them to operate under optimum conditions, reducing losses and EMI emissions.
- The HPA-S400ET sees these amplifier modules linked with a specially developed interface board for optimum integration.
Hypex SMPS1200A400 dual power supply module
The Hypex SMPS1200 switched-mode power supply is an ultra-high-efficiency model capable of developing a rated power of 1200 Watts in an extremely small footprint. It has been specifically designed and developed by Hypex to supply the 2 x 64V voltage needed to operate the most demanding amplifier modules.
This high-quality, low-noise power supply meets the power requirements of the amplifier modules in every respect. What's more, the amplifier modules themselves have an excellent ability to reject power supply noise. As a result, the HPA-S400ET is extremely insensitive to imperfections in the power supply network, and to voltage/current variations that can cause parasitic noise.
Audiophonics interface card
Purifi amplifier modules are grouped in pairs and driven in phase opposition, to cancel the "power-supply pumping" effect. This makes for greater power supply stability, distributing current calls alternately on each rail, thus increasing its capacity.
We've opted for 2-level voltage regulation, to optimize the power supply to the OPAs and the auxiliary voltage supplied to the modules. This allows the OPAs to be supplied with a high voltage (18V) for better overall performance, and enables them to supply the voltage required to reach the amplifier's maximum output level. While maintaining the auxiliary voltage required by the modules.
One Audiophonics OPA1656 per channel is used, providing precision and musicality. They are socket-mounted, allowing replacement if necessary.
To suit all uses, we've opted for 4 gain settings, adjustable by jumper on the interface board.
Connections
High-performance and versatile, the HPA-Q400ET Purifi amplifier features four inputs on XLR connectors, with four pairs of speaker terminals at the outputs. This means it can be used for everything from high-fidelity listening to bi-amplification and multi-channel home-cinema applications.
